Take part in Newsome Voices

How do you feel about life in Newsome? The Newsome Centre and our local councillors want to find out what really matters to us all in Newsome. Please take part in Newsome Voices from 20th May to 20th June 2023 to share your experiences and ideas. It’s an opportunity to say what you hope Newsome will be like in the future and to be part of creating a plan for our area, based on what really matters to local people.

You can take part online or look out for the team of local volunteers, councillors and council staff who will be out and about at local events.

Newsome Scouts Beer Festival & 70th Anniversary

Celebrate 70 years of Scouting in Newsome with a look at old photos and memorabilia. Then enjoy a pint or two at our inaugural beer festival. 16 real ales, Thatcher’s cider and a glass of wine if you prefer. There’ll also be a pizza oven doing freshly cooked pizzas on the Friday and Saturday evening. It couldn’t get any better, oh yes it can with an Umpah Band on Friday night and the University Big Band on Saturday. If that’s not enough you can feel angelic as you sip your pint as you’ll be raising funds for an International Trip for young people in our area.

Friday 12th to Sunday 14th May 2023 at Newsome Scout HQ, Newsome Road South HD4 6JJ

We’ll also be showing Eurovision if you want to watch – but if not, the Scout Hall is big enough to avoid it.

Organised by Newsome 45th Scout Group.
