Christmas Get Together Lunch

Castle Community Hub are hosting our second Christmas Get Toghter Lunch, where older people in our community can get together, chat and enjoy a festive lunch together. It’s on Thursday 5th December 2019 from 12 noon to 2pm.

Places are limited so please let us know if you or someone you know would like come come along, so we can reserve you a place. There is no charge to individuals as the Christmas lunch has been funded by the Food for Life Get Together Programme

Newsome Kiddies Christmas Party 2019

Tickets are available now for the Newsome Kiddies’ Christmas Party. It’s a fun afternoon for children aged 8 and younger, featuring a surprise guest.

Join in the fun on Saturday 14th December 2019 from 2.30pm to 5pm at Newsome Scout Hall, Newsome Road South, Newsome, Huddersfield HD4 6JJ.

Admission £3 per child,includes all the activities, party tea and a gift. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Autumn celebration event 2019

Everyone is welcome at Growing Newsome’s annual Autumn Gathering event. There’s lots of local food available to try and buy, including preserves, homemade cakes and a hot, two-course lunch served from 12 noon. We also have stalls and activities, including crafts for kids. Food growers can choose from six different varieties of garlic bulbs, plus onion sets, seeds and a selection of plants.

The event is on Saturday 12th October 2019 from 10am to 1pm at Newsome Scout Hall, Newsome Road South HD4 6JJ. Refreshments are available all morning. Free admission.

Summer Celebration with South Huddersfield Churches Together.

Come and enjoy Sop Sandwiches and other refreshments. Raffle.

Newsome Play Day 2019

Come and join the fun at Newsome Play Day. Lots of activities for children aged 0 to 12 and their families.

Activities include: Slip Slide, Arts and Crafts, Make a Kite, Story Walk, Circus Skills and Sports.

It’s always a great fun day. Please remember to bring suitable outdoor clothing and bring along your lunch and drinks.

Newsome Play Day is on Wednesday 7th August 2019 from 11am to 4pm at Castle Community Hub, Headfield Road, Newsome HD4 6LU.

Big Plant Swap 2019

Everyone is welcome at Growing Newsome’s annual Big Plant Swap. You can choose from hundreds of vegetable plants, herbs, salads, fruit and wildlife-friendly flowers. There’s also seed planting and craft activities for children, food growing advice, local volunteering opportunities, stalls including local produce on sale, and a two-course lunch served from 12 noon.

The event is on Saturday 1st June 2019 from 10am to 1pm at Newsome Scout Hall, Newsome Road South HD4 6JJ. Free admission.

Growing Newsome Big Plant Swap

Remembering Jean Sims

Anyone who knew Jean Sims is welcome to join Diane and Paul to remember and celebrate the life of their lovely mum. She will be missed by many in our community.

A Service will be held at 1.15pm on Thursday 16th May 2019 at Huddersfield Crematorium (Fixby Road, Huddersfield HD2 2JF), followed by refreshments at Highfield Funeral Service (West Croft, Trinity Street, Huddersfield HD1 4DT). All welcome – it’s helpful if you can let the family know whether you can stay for the refreshments by emailing Diane at: sims31@btinternet.com
