The vestry roof of the Newsome Centre is in a very poor condition and needs replacing. The team are running a crowdfunder to help get this vital work done. It involves removing the chimney which is causing structural issues. It will mean that community events can go ahead throughout the building.

The Newsome Centre building (formerly St. John the Evangelist Church) will be open for anyone who is interested in local history to explore, as part of Heritage Open Days 2024.

On 7th and 8th of September, the Centre will be hosting Huddersfield & District Family History Society. On 7th September you can also visit the Growing Newsome stall.

Please take part in Newsome Voices from 20th May to 20th June 2023 to share your experiences and ideas. It’s an opportunity to say what you hope Newsome will be like in the future and to be part of creating a plan for our area, based on what really matters to local people.
