The Stirley Food Festival is back, organised by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Come along for lots of local food and drink, including the Growing Newsome stall, plus wildlife activities and pick your own veg.

Spooky Bat Trail and Pumpkin Picking

Pumpkin Picking season is back for another year at Stirley alongside a fun, family bat-themed trail through our gardens.

New for this year! We’re introducing timed slots including a quiet hour at the end of each day.

BowerFest 2022

BowerFest.is back for the first time since 2019. Enjoy the usual mix of real ales, speciality lager, gin bar and live music in Hall Bower village just below Castle Hill. Organised by Hall Bower Athletic Club.

Nature Tots

It’s never too early to be inspired by nature! Explore the great outdoors through fun and stimulating activities at Stirley. These friendly and inclusive Nature Tots sessions are specially designed for children aged four and under to learn with their parent or carer. Each session will have a special theme, be it based on a book, season or wildlife. We can’t wait to meet you and your adventurous little ones!

Let nature be your inspiration and get creative with this wild workshop. There’s so much to create: from clay animals to leaf crowns, pebble painting, bark etchings, outdoor art, wild jewellery and more!

Make your own bird feeder

During the winter, especially with the storm, we’ve all been worried about the birds. One way you can help is to make sure they have plenty of food! That’s why Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Stirley Farm are excited to be running some Bird Feeder Making workshops this spring 2022 half term. There are different feeders you can make and the event is fun for all ages.

Adults £5, Children £3, Family Ticket (2 Adults and 2 Children) £13.

Feed the Birds

Hall Bower Art Group

We’re an Art Group and a diverse bunch of friends. We welcome all, from complete beginners and hobby painters to experienced artists. Although we don’t provide any structured tuition, there’s always someone to help and advise. We generally meet every second Tuesday at Hall Bower Chapel in Newsome. It’s free to join and everyone is welcome.

Wild and Wonderful: Hall Bower Art Exhibition 2020

An array of pictures and painting done by Hall Bower Art Club members, plus other craft stalls. The usual refreshment room will be open, offering a range of lovely home made cakes and sandwiches, including our delicious Hot Beef (and Onion) rolls.

Open days Friday 16th October and Saturday 17th October 2020 from 11am till 4pm at Hall Bower Sunday School, High Lane, Huddersfield HD4 6RL, with the official opening on Friday 16th October at 11.30am.

Sunday 18th October Art Service at 3pm.

Coffee mornings at Hall Bower Chapel 2020

Our coffee morning is the first Wednesday of every month, with an excellent choice of homemade cakes available. A piece of cake together with a mug of coffee costs just £2… coffee refills are free. Also available is a copy of our popular “Diabolical Quiz”. The quiz sheet costs £1 and is to take away, study and return within a month.
