Berry Brow Methodist Church and Community Centre

Regular community activities include Cafe Church (with discussions and refreshments), Messy Church (fun for families) and the Newsome Community Gospel Choir. “Connecting the community” is our ethos. We have strong links with other churches and have a jointly-run community shop.

Hall Bower Chapel

This independent chapel is a welcoming home to lots of community activities, including a Coffee Morning on the first Wednesday of the month, Light Lunches on the second Monday of each month, Chapel Ramblers on regular Monday mornings, Art Club, Flower Arranging, Almondbury Ladies Choir, annual Art Exhibition and lots more.

Longley and Lowerhouses Community Church

Community activities include Little Monkeys Play and Craft every Wednesday during term time, Youth Clubs on Tuesdays and Fridays, a Kids’ Cooking Club on Mondays and a Luncheon Club fortnightly on Thursdays.

St. John’s Church, Newsome

One of the two churches in the Parish of Newsome & Armitage Bridge, within the Emmanuel Team Ministry, and a member of Newsome Local Ecumenical Partnership with Berry Brow Methodist Church. The church has benefited from some recent adaptations to provide better facilities and access.

St. Paul’s Church, Armitage Bridge

A warm welcome is assured for visitors to St. Paul’s in the village of Armitage Bridge. It has a reputation for being a friendly and sociable church, set in a beautiful and peaceful churchyard. The church is used regularly by choirs and musicians on account of its excellent acoustic qualities.
